Common Questions

Will therapy help me?

The simple answer is yes. Therapy can help everyone. Life isn’t easy and we can use all the support we can get. You and I will work together on what you want and need from therapy.

What’s your cancellation policy?

When you call to cancel 24 hours prior to your session, no worries. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice or don’t come, you’ll be charged the fee for a regular session.

How many sessions do I need?

Therapy is different for everyone. For some clients, a few sessions is plenty. For others, more sessions are wanted and needed. You get to decide what’s best for you.

Do you accept Blue Cross Blue Sheild insurance?

I bill Blue Cross Blue Sheild directly. You’ll want to call the number on the back of your card to understand your co-pay and deductible amounts. I can help if you have any questions on your benefits.

Do you accept other insurance?

I don’t bill other insurance directly. We can talk through it. Ask your insurance company about your out-of-network coverage. I will work with you together on the paperwork so you can get reimbursed properly.

What ways can I pay you?

Credit card, flex spending and health spending cards. I use Ivy Pay to process all payments. IvyPay is a HIPAA compliant and security safe card processor, ensuring protection of sensitive patient health information.

What are my rights as a client under the No Surprises Act?

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges” under the No Surprises Act which explains how much your medical care will cost. I discuss the Good Faith Estimate Disclosure here.

Who do you work with?

I work with adults and teens once they have reached 14 years old. For minors, all parents/guardians will need to agree to therapy for their children. We can talk about the best way to do that for your situation. Your level of involvement as a parent or guardian will be unique to your situation and your teen’s needs.

Does going to therapy mean there’s something wrong with me?

There is nothing wrong with you. It’s okay to need some extra support at times. Therapy is a way to take care of our mental health and wellness.
